Personal Statement

My goal is to play basketball while studying in the field of medicine. I believe in pushing myself both on and off the court. I grew up playing multiple sports, trying my hand at everything. This is where I found my love for competition and basketball. As I got exposed to tougher competition, I made adjustments to my training, I always wanted to challenge myself to be better. My goal in my training was to make sure I had a strong foundation for fundamentals while exploring creativity in my game. I love to play in close games where the lead can change from one play to the next. I have been told by my coaches that I receive feedback well, and I am someone they can count on to give my all during practice and games. I enjoy being used in multiple roles by my coaches. Sometimes that means bringing the ball up the court, playing in the post, or being the first defender in a full-court press. I run baseline to baseline.

My style of play is to get on the court and get the job done. I am not an overly expressive or flashy player, but on the inside, my adrenaline is pumping and my competitive nature is ready to explode. My coaches and teammates often say they know when I am dialed in and ready to go, I get that look. I believe we all play an important role on the team during practices, huddles, and game film, and that can change in every game. Communication with your coaches and teammates is vital. While I enjoy other high school sports such as Volleyball and Track and Field, my passion is basketball, and I want to continue to push myself to be the best that I can be.
